My presentation is included in Panel 1115 on Discourse and the Construction of Meaning in Global Norm-Making (Wed, Jul 25 – 8:15am – 10:00am HU / 15).

In the conference program, my presentation is entitled, ‘Multidirectional Processes for the Construction of Knowledge in International Lawmaking: Nongovernmental Input in the Drafting of the Disability Rights Convention.’ However, I have changed the title of the presentation as follows: ‘The Expert of Self in the Process of Global Governance: The Role of Persons with Disabilities in the Drafting of the Disability Rights Convention.’ The change reflects my focus on the rise and fall of different types of expertise, rather than the process of translation between different types of knowledge, in global knowledge construction and norm making concerning disability.
