The most often asked question by visitors to Berlin is: “Where was the Wall ?”  Followed immediately by the next question: “What was the GDR and its secret service ‘Stasi’ ?”

Today, 16 ½ years after the ‘Fall of the Wall’, it has become very difficult to answer these questions while looking at Berlin. And it has become almost impossible to answer to the even more challenging questions:

• ”How was real, everyday life with the Wall ? In West- and in East-Berlin ?”
• ”How did it feel to live within – or – surrounded by the GDR ?”
• ”How did the secret service ‘Stasi’ influence the daily life of the people ?”

On this tour, we are looking for answers and understanding to these questions. We will do so by taking a look at the remaining pieces of the Wall and of the GDR and the ‘Stasi’ – remaining fragments in the streets of Berlin, in the heads and hearts of its people.

• Visit with 1-hour guided-tour to the former central office of the “Stasi”,

Due to traffic or time-circumstances, the list and the order of the above mentioned points may vary and may not always include every single one. The interests and wishes of the individual groups will be considered and realized as often as possible. The final decision on the possible route and stops is always up to the tour-guide.
