Bus Tour B3: Hanukka und Holocaust – Jewish Life in Berlin –

For more than 1000 years, Jews have lived in Berlin and enriched and influenced the life and development of the city. And Berlin was the center of the invention and the organization of the Holocaust.

Berlin has to live with this huge historical burden and responsibility. It is its duty to save and restore as much of the lost treasures as possible.

This tour will guide us to the most important and impressive points of memory and renewal of Jewish Life in Berlin.

The following special points of interest will be part of this tour:

  • The new Jewish Museum,
  • The traditional Jewish quarters, called “Scheunenviertel” (barn-district),
  • Synagogue and Centrum Judaicum,
  • Visit to the ‘Memorial for the Murdered Jews of Europe’,
  • The former Headquarters of the SS and all concentration camps (“RSHA”) and the today exhibition on that site “Topography of Terror”,
  • Music, art, literature – Examples by famous Jews from Berlin.

Due to traffic or time circumstances, the list and the order of the above mentioned points may vary and may not always include every single one. The interests and wishes of the individual groups will be considered and realized as often as possible. The final decision on the possible route and stops is always up to the tour-guide.
